Latest isCOBOL Release Improves Developer Productivity

isCOBOL APS 2010 Release 3 now available

Veryant proudly announces the newest update to the isCOBOL Application Platform Suite (APS), isCOBOL APS 2010 Release 3 (R3). isCOBOL APS 2010 R3 includes several enhancements to the isCOBOL Integrated Development Environment (IDE), new isCOBOL Debugger features, and enhanced compatibility with mainframe COBOL and Micro Focus ACUCOBOL-GT® to further simplify transitions to the isCOBOL platform.
Release Highlights
isCOBOL APS 2010 R3 includes several new advances:
  • Enhanced IDE
    isCOBOL IDE users can take advantage of several new productivity enhancements including the addition of drag-and-drop screen design and “Screen Test” capabilities, new code completion functionality, and new project view tabs.

  • Improved thin client performance
    Network latency has been minimized and thin client performance has been improved for end users navigating through screen fields by eliminating the need to send network packets when tabbing through screens and by reducing the overall number of network packets sent between the client and server.

  • New Debugger feature
    With isCOBOL 2010 R3, users can display and modify environment variables such as runtime configuration settings, file name substitution, etc. to get information and test scenarios while debugging.

  • Simplified transitions to isCOBOL
    Additional compatibility with mainframe and ANSI 85 COBOL syntax, as well as ACUCOBOL-GT, has been added in isCOBOL 2010 R3 to further simplify transitions to the isCOBOL platform.
