Studio IGM
Customer: Studio IGM

Studio IGM provides software to over 200 private garden cultivators and nurseries in Italy.

Business Drivers: Studio IGM was looking to provide a graphical, multi-platform Thin Client offering to its customer base that provided a simple way to manage pictures. Due to the nature of their application use in the field, it was important that the deployment platform be extremely portable and support Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) without additional programming complexity.

Solution: The isCOBOL Application Platform Suite (isCOBOL APS), with its full support of Java technology, enabled Studio IGM to distribute its application solution on a range of platforms, including PDAs. In addition to providing portability for Studio IGM's application code and simple photo management options for end-users, Studio IGM leveraged isCOBOL JISAM to provide a completely Java-based, portable ISAM solution as well.

Today, Studio IGM is able to easily distribute its application on a wealth of Thin Client and stand alone implementations.

Partner: Studio IGM selected Veryant Italia s.r.l. to move its application to isCOBOL APS and to support its implementation on the new target platform. Veryant Italia provided both the COBOL and Java expertise to make this project a success.
