Innovative Java deployment model helps leading insurance industry ISV enhance offering

Press Release

"Veryant took the time to understand our business model and presented a compelling, cost-effective solution..."
Roel Van Dijk, CEO, ANVA

ANVA, a leading Dutch insurance software provider, selected the isCOBOL from Veryant to lower COBOL licensing fees, enhance the efficiency of its development team, and bring added value to its customer base.

Business Drivers: ANVA has been providing flexible and easy-to-use modular software solutions to the insurance industry for three decades. The company’s policy administration and power of attorney applications had been deployed using ACUCOBOL-GT. Looking for a platform that would facilitate ongoing application modernization activities, and responsive vendor support, ANVA has decided to migrate from Micro Focus ACUCOBOL-GT to isCOBOL.

Solution: Before ANVA could move to isCOBOL, Veryant had to add support for PostgreSQL, a popular open source database. With a 100% Java-based architecture, Veryant’s development team can rapidly introduce new features and enhancements into its product lines. Once PostgreSQL support was added to isCOBOL, ANVA was able to smoothly transition off the ACUCOBOL-GT platform.
